What is BLOOM

Growth patterns in infants with an orofacial cleft are not well-characterized. We lack reliable data on which children are at high risk of slow growth, as well as what the best methods are to prevent and mitigate slow growth in early life.

Through the collaboration of multiple sites BLOOM aims to address these gaps. We aim to use our findings to help create targeted programs that support timely growth in U.S. infants with cleft.

Philosophy

At the heart of our research effort lies a commitment and dedication to improving outcomes for children with a cleft. We believe that meaningful results are achieved when experts from diverse fields come together to share insights and expertise. Our interdisciplinary approach fosters an environment where novel solutions can flourish. We are dedicated to using our findings to improve patient care.

By actively working with patients and healthcare providers in our study, we ensure that our work remains grounded in real-world needs and experiences. Continuous learning and adaptation are central to our philosophy, allowing us to stay connected with our community’s needs. We strive to make a meaningful impact on health outcomes, driven by a passion for scientific discovery and a commitment to bettering the lives of children with a cleft.
